My Story
Hi, I’m Maria! I am a stay at home mom to a sporty 13 year old daughter who is very sweet, a really fresh 10 year old son who cracks me up, and a smart 8 year old daughter, who is FULL of confidence lol.
Before I was a stay at home mom, I had always struggled with never knowing what path I wanted to take in my life. All I knew, when I was in school, was that I liked math and I wanted to help people. So I went to college and graduated as a medical assistant. But everywhere I applied to was looking for someone with experience, and I never found that one place that would give me a chance. So I continued working as a bank teller, and I was promoted up to assistant manager. I enjoyed writing up mortgages for people, but it didn’t pay as much as I had hoped, and there was a lot more that started to be required of me with no extra pay or rewards. I was told to go out on sales calls, when I would be earning no commission on doing that what-so-ever. So when I had my first daughter, I was lucky enough to be able to leave that job and be a stay at home mom. And although I love staying home with all 3 of my kids, I hadn’t had something that was just for me in a long time. Until Scentsy!
When I first heard of Scentsy, I thought they had beautiful warmers, but I didn’t know that much about them. The first thing that got me interested in Scentsy right away was how their wickless candle system is safe to have around kids because their wax is nontoxic, it never gets hot enough to burn, it is safe to leave on 24/7, and since there is no flame there is no risk of fire! So I decided to do a Facebook party, since my hostess was far away, and when she sent me a kit with all of the testers to smell a week before my party was ending, I was in love! I loved being able to smell all of the scents because I found that some scents that I thought I would love I didn’t like as much as other scents that I loved and thought I wouldn’t even like! Scentsy's fragrances are meant to evoke all the good memories and they are such good quality and done so well that that is exactly what they were doing for me! I have always loved smelling all things scented and Scentsy comes out with new scents all the time which really excites me. In having my Facebook party, I learned even more great things about Scentsy and I fell in love with the products and the company. When my Facebook party saved me at least $130 I decided to join Scentsy almost immediately!
Scentsy gave me that chance I was looking for and I am now where God intended me to be. I have never been this passionate about any other job in my life and it is such a wonderful feeling. Scentsy truly filled a hole in my heart I didn’t even know was there, and it gave me my confidence and motivation back. I am blessed to be a part of such a loving and inspirational team. The encouragement is incredible and the friendly competition is so much fun! It is exactly the kind of thing that works for me. If I work harder I get rewarded for it and the incentives to keep you motivated are amazing and not demanding at all. On top of it all, I can make my own schedule, be as creative as I want to be, and continue to stay home with my kids without feeling bad for not contributing to our finances! I am so thankful for my soulmate and husband of 10 years, John, for being so supportive of my Scentsy career too! Now it’s time to pay it forward and bless others with their own Scentsy journey!
